Taylor's CIS+ Community
Following the dissolution of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) in 1991, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), a regional intergovernmental organization, was established, uniting a number of post-Soviet nations through shared historical, economic, and cultural bonds. The Taylor’s CIS+ Community is a non-political, student-led initiative dedicated to honoring this shared heritage while providing a "home away from home" for students at Taylor’s University. The "+" in our identity signifies our commitment to inclusivity, extending our reach beyond political boundaries to encompass: - The broader post-Soviet region and neighboring states. - Individuals with personal roots, heritage, or linguistic ties to these cultures. - Any members of the Taylor’s community who appreciate our traditions and wish to engage in cross-cultural learning.
